Students of 2020: Final Project

When I first read the prompt for our final project, I was frankly a little overwhelmed. There were so may different possibilities, and I didn’t really know where to start.

Eventually, I started thinking about how I used the internet this year and how online school has been so difficult and so much of a learning curve for me. I realized that all of my classmates, friends, and peers probably had a bit of a learning curve using the internet for school this year, and I wanted to explore that.

So, the instagram account Students of 2020 was born. I set up a Google form to conduct virtual interviews of students of all ages at different schools in Virginia. There ended up being eight questions that I asked, all touching on different aspects of online learning and how people used the internet this year.

I ended up getting 19 responses from students at many different schools including Mary Wash, West Potomac High School, and Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. The responses were all super interesting and I got a wide variety of answers. I started posting snippets from the interviews on Instagram under the handle @studentsof2o2o. I tried to post about once a day, but unfortunately didn’t post as much as I ultimately wanted to due to a COVID related death in the family.

The link to the instagram account is below, I hope you all enjoy reading some of the responses I got!
